Clicky Cutter 3D-printed EDC box cutter with Lenox retractable utility blade on blue surface

Retractable Blade.
Built to Last.

Ships with a Lenox utility blade inside a custome 3D-printed shell made in-house. The blade stays fully hidden until you swipe it out — a magnet keeps it secure when retracted. Standard blade format means replacements are everywhere and the swap takes seconds.

OUR STORY

Tyler, one of our founders, got fed up with EDC tools that almost worked but always fell short. Bulky ones cluttered his pocket and slim ones didn't hold up. He prototyped a 3D-printed shell around a standard retractable box cutter blade, aiming for something minimal and pocket-ready.The real surprise came when pressing down made a crisp but accidental click. This surprise turned a simple box cutter into a slim fidget EDC tool. We then added a pocket clip for quick access, and a one-handed swipe to extend the blade.Everything you need. Nothing you don't.That's Clicky Cutter.

FAQ

A slim EDC box cutter built around a retractable utility blade. It opens packages, cuts tape and slices mail. The kind of stuff you do daily. Small enough to live in your pocket and actually stay there.
Most EDC cutters are either too bulky or feel cheap the second you hold them. Clicky Cutter landed somewhere in the middle. Slim enough to slide in a pocket and solid enough to trust. The thing that surprised us during prototyping was the click. Press down on the slotted blade and it snaps back with a satisfying click. Nobody asked for it. But everyone loved it.
Thumb the blade out, make your cut, slide it back in. No second hand, no fussing with a button or switch. The whole thing is one motion each way. Once you get used to it, using anything else feels like a step backward.
Press down on the retractable blade and it clicks. It started as an accident during the first prototype but we couldn't stop clicking it. And we found ourselves hopelessly addicted to fidgeting with it during the day.
Yep! And it's one we designed ourselves. Clips to a pocket, bag strap, or waistband without digging in or flopping around. We went through a few versions before landing on something we were happy with. It holds well.
Boxes, tape, mail, bags, zip ties, light trimming, etc. Basically anything you'd normally grab a blade for. It lives in your pocket or on a desk and handles the everyday stuff without making you dig through a drawer. If you order things online regularly, you'll use this constantly.
Small. Front pocket small. We don't have the final production dimensions locked yet, but the current version sits flat in a pocket without that awkward bulge. You'll forget it's there until you need it.
We're aiming for around $24.99
It ships with a Lenox Gold utility blade. Sharp out of the box and a good fit for the housing. You can swap in other standard utility blades if needed, but Lenox Gold is what we recommend. The fit is tighter and the edge holds up better.
You can. Standard utility blade format, no proprietary parts, no special tools. Always retract the blade before disassembly, work over a flat surface, and keep your fingers clear of the cutting edge. Dispose of used blades in a puncture-resistant container — an old prescription bottle works well. Never throw loose blades in the trash.
The blade stays fully hidden inside the housing until you swipe it out, held in place by a magnet. It doesn't extend on its own. Sliding it back in is just as easy as pulling it out. Like any blade, it's still sharp — handle it accordingly.

Clicky Cutter is a utility cutting tool with a standard Lenox blade — the same blade type sold at any hardware store. In most U.S. jurisdictions, utility knives like this are legal for adults to own and carry. However, knife and blade laws vary by state, county, and city, and some locations have restrictions on blade length, concealed carry, or possession in specific places like schools, courthouses, government buildings, and airports. It's your responsibility to know and follow the laws in your area. If you're not sure, check with your local authorities before purchasing.
Possibly not. Many schools, government buildings, and workplaces prohibit knives and cutting tools regardless of size or type. In Florida and many other states, possessing a box cutter on school property is a serious criminal offense. Check with your school or employer before bringing a Clicky Cutter onsite, and never carry it into prohibited locations.
